FORMOSA TAFFETA CO., LTD. (FTC) was established in April 1973. At that time in Taiwan, the textile product manufacturing industry and export trading business was flourishing. The Formosa Chemical and Fiber Co., a subsidiary of the Formosa Plastic Group, in conjuction with a select number of private investors, cooperated together to establish FTC.
FTC utilized the most modern machinery and became a vital link in the middle- stream textile industry with its weaving, dyeing, printing and finishing process and gained the reputation of being a "faithful supplier".

Since FTC was formed more than 20 years ago, the management has had a philosophy of harmony, creativity, service and contribution, and providing a quality product to down-stream processing industries. The company has sought to upgrade the quality of life both for its customers and its product users.
